Obituary

Alfred L. Gibson was born on February 15, 1933 in Newton, Mississippi. He was born to the union of Frank and Lillie Bell Gibson, who preceded him in death. His four brothers, Jessie, Leroy, T.J. and C.J. Quincy and four sisters, Annie Ruth, Helen Marie, Florence and Cherry Lee all preceded him in death.

*Alfred left Mississippi at a very young age and relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Alfred was an exemplary manager at the King Car Wash locations in Chicago, Illinois and Hammond, Indiana for over 30 years.

*In 1967, he married his wife, Patricia (Brick) Gibson, during their union, their precious daughter, Carmen was born.

*Alfred was known by many, many people. He had the kind of personality that drew people of all ages and races and really knew how to make them smile.

*Alfred loved music and dancing. His favored song was, "I Don't See Nothing Wrong With a Little Bump and Grind" , the remix version.

*Alfred departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Metro South Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois, at 8:55 a.m., after a lengthy illness.

*He is survived by: his wife, Patricia; his loving daughter, Carmen Gibson; two brothers, George Gibson and Charlie Gibson, both from Jasper, Alabama; three sisters, Alean Tyler (Bill) and Rutha Mae Evans, both from Chicago, Illinois and Neva Mae Parker (Roy) from Jasper, Alabama; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
