Alphonso Barlow was born April 5th, 1941 to the union of Samuel and Lessie Barlow. He was the youngest of five children.

Alphonso was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Geraldine Dukes; and brothers, Earl and Samuel Barlow, Jr.

Alphonso was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church by the late Rev. Ira M. Hendon. He attended Forrestville Grade School and Dunbar High School. He worked for various jobs including a potato chip factory and a wood factory.

Alphonso was a movie buff and found joy in being around his family. Having once been a
member of a singing group, he also enjoyed singing.

Alphonso departed this life on January 22, 2013. He leaves to mourn: one sister, Marlene Stem; and one brother-in-law, Ed; nieces and nephews, Audrey, Crystal, Arnita, Geraldine (Deon), Taft (Lillie), Danny (Marie), Samuel, Sylvester, Derrick (Kim), Larry, Earl Jr., and Theodore (Mattie, deceased); sister-in-law, Lizzie Barlow; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alphonso will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
