Bessie L. Head, born November 19, 1933 to proud parents, Van and Naomi Jenkins in Pine Bluff, AK.  Both parents have preceded her in death as well as her husband, Elijah. Bessie spent most of her adult years in Chicago working with Schultz & Burke Bakery.  She is survived by her loving son, Samuel, devoted sister, Nola Simpson; cousins, Lula Head and Debra Harris.  Her son, Luther, brothers, Van Jenkins, Jr., George Jenkins, sisters, Estella Jenkins and Lorraine Jenkins have all preceded her in death. Ms. Head lived a long life serving the Lord as a Baptist at The Lord's Way Missionary Baptist Church.  She went home to be with our Lord on February 20, 2019.  She will truly be missed by all who love her.  Services have been entrusted to Golden Gate Funeral Home, 2036 W. 79th Street, Chicago, IL  60620.
