Carolyn Nicks peacefully joined the Mastor on Saturday, March 22, 2008. She was the second child born of the late Wilbert and Lucille (Chambers) Jones, born in Chaneyville, Louisiana on October 3, 1928.
Affectionately called Ma'Me, Carolyn was a gentle, pleasant, soft spoken woman with a ready smile. She was a totally devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Carolyn was very active at the district, state, and national levels in the Christian Community to include, serving as the President of the Woman's Auxillary of the Brotherhood District Association, Secretary of the Interdemoniational Minister's Wives Alliance. She also served as an Election Judge in various wards throughout the city of Chicago.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory of sixty years to Oscar; two sons; Romero(Denise), Carl(Kelli); two daughters; Sharon, Lynette (Gregory); two adopted grandchildren, Chadwick and Tanya; a devoted brother and sister-in-law, Maxine and Kenneth Taylor; one brother-in-law, Robert Nicks Jr., one son preceded her in death, Oscar Craig Nicks Jr., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
