Elizabeth Black was born to Pearl Moncrief on July 27, 1917 in Newton, Mississippi.
Mother Black, as she was affectionately known, confessed Christ at an early age.
She was married to Jeff Black who preceded her in death and to this union no children were born.
During her life, Elizabeth left Mississippi in the late 1940*s and moved to Chicago. She was a supervisor for Jewel*s by Bogoff. After she retired from Bogoff, she became a part-time housekeeper. In the late 1970*s, Mother Black became a member of the New Paradise M.B. Church where she was a faithful member until her death. She was also a member of the Knights of Pythias an Order of Calathe.
Elizabeth went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2010 at 2:30p.
She leaves to cherish her memory: seven nieces-Birdie Robinson of Oakland, CA, Pearl Christmas of Corona, CA, Lula Navy of Corona, CA, Willie Barlow of Oakland, CA, Bennie Mae Hines of Hattiesburg, MS, Ola Mae Hines of Hattiesburg, MS, Annie Mae Walker of Flint, MI; five nephews-WD Walker of Oakland, CA, Bob Frost of Atlanta, GA, Robert Frost of Los Angeles, CA, Jo Albert Johnson of New York, and Butch Hines of Hattiesburg, MS. There is also a host of friends and loved ones that will treasure her memory.
