Eva Mae Hegwood Townsend was born to the union of the late Archie and Delithia Hegwood in Shaw, Mississippi on July 5, 1933. She was the fourteenth child of fifthteen. She married Lloyd Townsend, Sr. who preceded her in death. Eva worked for Curtis Candy Company , Menard's Cleaners and Chicago Public Schools and retired in 2001. Eva worshiped and served the Lord as a Senior Usher at First Bethany M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Cleotha Tate. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 84:10. Eva leaves to cherish fond memories: sisters; Mollie, Cornelia, Delithia, Lettie; sisters-in-law Pinkie and Ethel Jane; children; Lloyd, Jr., Shirley (Calvin), Sheila, Archie, Victoria (Ben), Yolanda (Calvin); seventeen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
