Samira Adilah Young (Samira Lenell Chester) was born to Samuel L. Chester and Carole Floyd Chester in Chicago, Illinois, on February 18, 1966.

Samira graduated from Hirsch High School in Chicago, Illinois. She married Dwayne E. Young; and to this union two children were born, Danielle and Joshua, their mother's pride and joy. Her greatest desire was to have more children, so in 2008 she adopted her own niece and her niece's brother.

She was a devoted Christian, who earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Christian Education. After, singing in various church choirs, Samira was later ordained as an Evangelist by Liberty Full Gospel Church in 2010, where she remained until her homegoing.

Evangelist Samira Young was gorgeous, loving and with a warm heart. She always greeted you with a wide smile.

Samira departed this life April 2, 2013. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: sons, Joshua Young and Michael Jenkins Young; daughters, Danielle Young and Taylor Jenkins Young; mother, Carole Chester Stewart; father, Samuel Abu Muhammad; brothers, Samuel Ibn Muhammad, Emmanuel Muhammad, Lemuel Chester, and Balel Xzavian; sisters, Saamdrea Muhammad, and Carolyn Stewart; a special aunt, Yvonne Brumsfield; special cousin, Carolyn Chhutani; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, coworkers, and friends who loved her dearly. Samira will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Viewing & Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013, 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 2036 W. 79th Street, Chicago, Il 60620

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, 10:00 a.m. Viewing and Funeral Services starting at 11:00 a.m., at Liberty Temple Full Gospel Church, 2233 W. 79th Street, Chicago, Il 60620

Interment will take place immediately following the services at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
