Obituary

Florence "Lucille" Benjamin was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 18, 1931 to the union of Henry and hazel Benjamin. She was the eldest of thirteen children. Lucille received her education in the Alabama Public School system where she attended St. Jude High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of True Believers Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois and later went to study Jehovah God. In 1953 she married Charles McCall and to this union seven children were born. They later moved to Chicago, Illinois where Lucille eventually made her home on South Throop Street. Lucille was loved by many and touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She was known to brighten your day by giving words of wisdom and encouragement. You could always count on her for a compliment that would bring a smile to anyone's face. After a long battle of Alzheimer's disease, Lucille was called home on November 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Benjamin; five brothers, Isaiah Luckerson, Willie Luckerson, Gary Benjamin, Gordon Benjamin and Henry Clary Jr.; and two sisters: Ava Benjamin and Wanda Benjamin. Lucille leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Hazel Luckerson; six sons: Mickey McCall (Cathie), Charles McCall Jr., Leonard McCall (Beverly), Dwight McCall Sr., Victor McCall (Marilyn), and Darryl McCall (Sue); one beloved daughter, Ginger Dority (Kenneth); three sisters: Renee Benjamin, Clamentine Brown (Franklin), Debra Young (Kenny): three brothers: Anthony Benjamin, Wayne Benjamin and Gary Benjamin; eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and host of cherished relatives and friends.
