Florence Mae (GIles) Scott was born in Geiger, Alabama on October 5, 1937 to the union of Tommy and Carrie Giles. She was the first of nine children. She attended Mt. Calvary church where she was baptized. She attended and graduated from North Sumter High School in 1955. Florence was united in holy matrimony on December 15, 1956 to her high school sweetheart George (Sonny) Scott. George preceeded her in death in 1991.

Florence and Sonny moved to Chicago in 1956 where they started their new life, sharing many memorable years together.

To their marriage of 34 wonderful years, three sons were born; Chester(Arthur) Scott, Kelvin Scott, and George Danny Scott. In 1986 they were blessed with the arrival of a daughter, Braquel Brittany Scott. Florence was a dedicated mother of four who always went out of her way to please her kids. She was sensitive to everyone's needs, always extending a helping hand.

Florence was the owner of Flo's Unique Beauty Salon from 1980 until she retired in 1993. Florence attended True Believers Baptist Church were she served on the Usher Board.

Florence leaves to cherish fond memories a loving mother Carrie Giles, three loving sons, Chester Scott, Kelvin Scott and George Scott, a loving daughter; Braquel Brittany Scott, one daughter-in-law Christine four grandchildren;, Quincy Parks, Ciara Scott, Resha Scott and Jeremy Scott, One great-grandchild, Quincy Parks, Jr, two sisters; Sadie (Eddie) McCollum Edward, Annie Louise Giles, six brothers, Tommy Giles Jr, Donald (Jackie) Giles, Willie James (Gloria) Giles, albert (Lisa) Giles, Alvin (Emma) Giles, Robert (Rita)Giles, seven sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, two aunts, one uncle, her buddy Hattie McCoy, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 @ True Believers M.B. Church located 7801 S. Wolcott, Chgo, Il.
