James E. (Sir) Jones was the eighth child and was born to Freddy and Annie Jones in Arkansas. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1966.
James accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul MB Church in Blythesville, Arkansas inder the leadership of Rev. A. Johnson.
In 1966 he met Clara and they were married in 1967. To this union three children were born Toney, Terraence and Trashawn. He later became a member at Second Mt. Vernon under the leadership of Rev. R. Patton and Rev. Lee Davis. James served on the Trustee Board, Finance and Building Committee, Annex Manager, Male Chorus and Board of Directors.
In 1967 James was drafted into the U.S. Army. James was employed by CTA. He retired in 1997 after thirty years of service. He loved to sports, traveling, reading and working on cars. Most of all he loved the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Clara, children, Toney (Patricia), Terrence (Anna) and Trashawn; brothers Robert(Aileen) and Earnest (Debra); sisters, Sarah (Thomas), Julia (Ananias, Freddy , Annette, Aretha and Patricia; six grand children; five sisters-in law; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
