Leonard McKinney, Jr. was born February 22, 145 in Dubbs, MS to the late Leonard and Corrine McKinney. As a child he joined Jehovah's Rest church in Dubbs, MS. He later moved from Tunica to Memphis, then to Chicago, IL where he lived until his untimely death. In the year of 1970 he was united in holy matrimony to Bobbie Williamson. To this union two sons were born Michael McKinney and Kevin McKinney. Leonard worked a few jobs then started to work at Apex Smelting Foundry. He worked for local 4 for 28 years. Leonard was a very giving man; he helped everyone that he could. His mother, father and oldest son Leonard "Prince" III all of whom preceded him in death. The good Lord called Leonard home on Friday morning of July 2, 2010. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife Bobbie McKinney, three sons Michael McKinney (Rongela), Kevin McKinney (Marva Williams), both from Chicago and a son Steve Hope of St. Louis, MO; two daughters Mona Allen of Yazoo City, MS and Sharon Shipp-Conway (Melvin) of Tunica, MS; six sisters Ruthie Mae McKinney, Irene McKinney, Earlene McKinney all of Tunica, MS; Dorothy Jean McKinney and Brenda Irby both of Chicago, IL and Sandra Thomas of St. Louis, MO; one brother Lester Irby of Cordova, TN; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, two aunts, Mary Lofton (Willie) of Chicago, IL and Clara Lofton of Cleveland, Ohio; a mother-in-law and father-in-law Marsha and Alvin Williamson; 3 sisters-in-laws Ina Salter (Bobby), Lenita Roberts, Marva Willis an one brother-in-law Milton Williamson (Rosie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
