Brother Leroy Wilson Muhammad was born on March 20, 1930, in Fayette Alabama, to the late Flora & Gaston Wilson. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Shady Grove Baptist Church. He attended school in the Fayette County School Systems. Leroy worked in construction as a plasterer. He left the South in 1952, heading north for opportunities for growth and development. He landed in the city of Chicago, whereby he met the love of his life, Miss Frazier Lee. A love supreme! Leroy was married to Frazier Lee Thomas Goshay on August 3, 1956, and to this union, two children were born, Kenneth Leroy and Carol Regina. In 1959, his cousin Johnny invited him to hear the teachings of the honorable Elijah Muhammad. In 1960, he became a registered member of the Nation of Islam. Brother Leroy loved the Believers of Mosque Maryam. They truly were his extended family. Leroy was a hard working family man who sacrificed much to see that his family had the best possible quality of life. He often labored multiple jobs in order to secure his family. In 1959, he began working as a loader with the US Steel Corporation, from which he retired. Brother Leroy provided Leroy provided counsel and support to many. He had a generous heart and cheerful spirit, and enjoyed opening up his home to family and friends. He loved to celebrate big events, and birthdays were his favorite celebrations of all. He was known to be a great cook and loved to travel with his family. He was committed to keeping his family together; if there was a reunion, wedding, or death, he was there. He would travel to the end of the earth to be there for his family and for that, we are grateful. His most talked about travels were his first trip to Washington D.C. with the honorable Elijah Muhammad and his attendance at the historic Million Man March on Washington. On December 30, 2010, Allah (God) called Brother Leroy home. His siblings, Eunice Wilson, Rosetta Maddox, Elanoe Jones, Rev T.R. Wilson, and Rozell Wilson, preceded him in death. He leaved to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Frazier Lee Muhammad, his son, Kenneth Leroy (Debra Smith) Wilson, and daughter Carol Regina Muhammad; four loving stepchildren, Doris Daniels, John (Juanita) Goshay, Elder Fred (Ann) Goshay, and Shirley Muhammad; 16 grandchildren, one who preceded him in death, 17 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
