Obituary

Lillie Carter was born on April 19, 1925 in Jackson, Mississippi to Guessner and Jasper Cochran. Lillie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Lillie Carter received her education in Jackson, Mississippi. Upon graduating, she met Elisha Carter, where they were later joined in Holy Matrimony, and from that union 10 children were born. Lillie was employed with Tootsie Roll Candy Company for many years. Lillie spent many years on Marquette Road where she was known for her cooking. Lillie was admired for her hospitality, generosity and her positive criticism. She was a blessed, loving, kindhearted woman that accepted anyone into her arms. God called Lillie home on February 23, 2010 at 4:15 PM. Lillie is preceded in death by her father: Jasper Cochran, her mother: Guessner Cochran and her sons: William Lee, Robert Carter, Charles Carter and Joseph "Emmanuel" Carter. Lillie leaves to mourn: four sons: Roger Carter (Barbara), Leroy Carter (Arnita), Frederick Carter and Carl Carter, two daughters: Janice Carter and Jacqueline Jackson, Two brothers: Quedell Cochran (Carolyn), Willie Cochran (Sheila), Two sisters: Mildred Watts, Bertha Cochran, a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
