Obituary

On December 10, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois a baby boy was born to the union of Annie Lee Payne and Earl Payne. They named their second child and first son, Lionel. During his primary years he grew up on a Bowen Avenue where all the neighbors knew him as a friendly, talkative and witty boy.
He was baptized at Holy Angels Catholic Church at an early age and attended services every Wednesday and Sunday doing his elementary years at Holy Angels School. Later, the family moved to Forrestville Avenue during his high school years. After graduating from St. Michael's High School he was drafted into the Army and served until he was honorably discharged.
Lionel worked for Wisconsin Steel Company until the company went out of business. His next employment was as a heavy equipment operator with the City of Chicago until he was no longer able to work.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl and youngest sister, Levette. He is survived by daughters, Airica and Tiffany; mother, Ann; granddaughter, Audjoule; grandsons, Andrew, David and Airick; brothers, Leanard, Wyman(Brenda), Owen and Earl; sisters, Trulean(Edward), Carlet, Tonoa, Melvonne and a host of nephews,nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on August 15, 2012

All services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 2036 W. 79th St., Chicago, IL. 60620

Visitation: 10:00a.m.
Funeral Services: 11:00a.m.

Interment: with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
