Mae Ida Gist-Alexander was born August 18, 1941 to the late Wyatt and Daisy Gist in Barton, Arkansas. Mae moved to Chicago in 1968 and confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. Mae Ida Gist-Alexander was adored by plenty and loved by many. Mae was very outspoken and had no problem-telling people what was on her mind. Everyone looked forward to Sunday's dinner at Mae's house. Mae's house was known for "Family Functions". Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to Eric Alexander February 1965. On the morning of April 20, 2010, God called her home for eternal rest. Mae was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Wyatt and Estella; 1 brother, pleas, daughter and son, Ricky and Tina Corbin; and grandson, Anthony Alexander. Mae Ida Gist-Alexander leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Eric Alexander; 2 sons, Vermil Gist (Tina) and Mark Alexander; a special blessing from God Edquitta Alexander; 6 brothers, Lewis (Martha), Roscoe, Lenious, Robert (Flora), Melvin and William Gist (Shirl); 13 grandchildren, Doricko, Vermil Jr., Joseph, Curtis, Terria, Tina, Rickeia, Mark Jr., Shanell, India, Tianna, Shakenya and Tyreese; 15 great grandchildren; 1 aunt; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
