Margaree Horton was born on December 17, 1929 to Amos and Esteller Rice in Eutaw, Alabama. Her parents, sister, Eva and brother, Johnny preceded her in death. She confessed Christ at a very young age and became a member of New Light Baptist Church.
Margaree was united in Holy Matrimony to Johnnie Horton on December 28, 1947. To this union two daughters were born, Jessie and Lena.
Margaree was a nurse for thirty nine years. After moving to Chicago, Margaree became a member of Greater Tabernacle Church where she attended until death.
Margaree leaves to cherish fond memories; daughters Jessie and Lena; grandchildren Burgundy, Letonja, Marcus, Crisandra, Tieommo, Lenika, and Lexus; ten great grandchildren; sisters Janice, Sheri, Sharon, and Sheila; brothers Amos and Ricky; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
