Known to his family and friends as "Lil Mike," Michael Smith was always happy and full of joy. Michael Lamont Smith was born February 12, 1982 to McArthur Taylor and Gloria Smith in Chicago, Illinois. Mike accepted Christ as a young boy. He attended Holy Angels, St. Basil and Charles Henderson grammar schools and Thornwood High School. Professionally, Mike worked for Avon Packaging and Distribution. Mike made his transition Monday, October 11, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, McArthur Taylor; grandfather, Herman Smith, Sr. and three uncles: Raymond Smith, Herman Smith, Jr. and Andrew Taylor. Left to cherish fond memories of Lil' Mike are loving mother, Gloria Smith; daughter Mikiya Smith; grandmothers Carrie Smith and Ruby (Sylvester) Taylor; great-grandmother, Lula Humes; sisters Kenisha Smith and LaTasha Jones; aunt, Yvonne Smith; three uncles: Tyrone (Elizabeth) Smith, Darryl Smith and Wiley Taylor; three nieces: Keshuna Brown, Keiyah Smith and Kyeisha Jett; nephews, Kavari Smith and Anthony Ellis; favorite cousins, Sheena Smith and Raymond Griffin, special childhood friends Tamesia Hawkins and a host of other family and friends.
