Mildred Sylvester Jones-Edwards was born January 18, 1934 in Helena, Arkansas to Zeke Rivers and Vanilla Jones. Mildred was united in marriage to William C. Edwards on February 14, 1986.  Mildred graduated from Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee.  Mildred accepted Christ at a young age.  She attended church until her health began to fail.  Mildred was retired from Illinois Department of Public Aide.  Mildred was known and loved by many.  Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.  She was a very stylish woman with a beautiful smile.  She always gave to everybody and was always sopportive as in everything with encouraging words. Mildred taught her family how to give, laugh, love and clean our room.  Some of her sayings was, "It ain't nothing but a little sport" and "Do what you do, when you do it." Mildred loved life and lived it to the fullest she traveled, rode motorcycles, rode horses, cruised, modeled, sold Tupperware and Avon, loved Family gatherings and barbeques, visiting family and going to Melrose games everywhere.Mildred was preceded in death by two sons Frank and Marlon.On April 6, 2012 Good Friday, God dispatched his angels and called Mildred home.  Mildred is survided by her husband William; children; Michelle (Roosevelt), Evette (Andre), and Michael, also Tenishya Edwards, Patrice Edwards and William Edwards; sister Jimella Richmond; brother Willie Jones (Fannie), grandchildren; Ondrea (Kevin), Rochelle (Sagon), Jacqueline, Jasmine (Justin), Roosevelt III (Jessica), Joshua, Kristian, Andre, Jr., Christina, Sheena, Broderick, Ashley, Johnese, Leah, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Services: Saturday, April 14, 2012 Valley Kingdom Ministries 1102 E. 154th.
