Muriel Vaughn was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 18, 1928 to Alberta and Clarence Hatcher. Muriel was expired at home on Wednesday. September 22, 2010, surrounded by loving family. Muriel's husband, Fornor Vaughn, her sisters Fannie Mae Curd, a brother Marvin Hatcher, her son Michael Vaughn and a daughter Marlene Vaughn preceded her in death. Muriel grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Muriel grew up with five brothers and one sister. When she met her husband Fornor, they had seven children; four boys and three girls. Muriel worked with a Branch of the Special Police Agency. But her favorite love was being a mother to her children. Muriel loved having holidays celebrated at her home. This meant she was able to see her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Muriel was a spiritual person who believes In the Lord and was a member of Apostolic Church of God. All who knew her will truly miss her. She leaves to cherish her memory, four brothers, Robert Hatcher, DeLord Hatcher, Donald Hatcher and Mark Hatcher; her loving daughters, Asenath Spencer (James), Diane Vaughn, three sons, Fornor B. Vaughn, Dwight Vaughn and Melvin Vaughn (Ernestine); twenty-two grandchildren, eighty-seven great grandchildren and twenty five great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends she also touched.
