Reginald L. Martin was born January 4, 1959 to Gladys and Thomas Martin. His father preceded him in death in 1976. Reginald was a product of the Chicago Public School system. He attended Ulysses Grant Elementary School and Albert Lane Technical High School. Reginald's Faith in God was developed at an early age at the neighborhood church, where he attended on a regular basis. He confessed a hope in christ and was baptized on October 2, 2011. Reginald was always excited about going to church and was an avid Sunday School member until health prevented him from attending. Reginald was a member of the U.S. Army he served until 1986. He received an honorable discharge.

Reginald had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. He was very humorous and loved by everyone who knew him. He was able to make friends wherever he went. Everyone who knew him proclaimed that he was a great conversationalist and would help those in need. Reginald was a hard worker and rarely missed a day at work. Reginald, affectionately known as Reg by his family members, transitioned into his new life on Monday, July 16th., 2012, with his family at his bedside. Reginald leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Gladys Martin, brother; Miles (Brenda), sisters; Karen, Gale (Andre), Robin (David), Dana (Curtis), children; Reginald, Tarshika and John, aunt; Lillian Thomas, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
