On May 10, 1924 Clemon and Ella Easterling welcomed their only child Robert Nelson. Robert attended Mount Prospect Elementary School and Linwood HIgh School. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Point Pleasant Church in Mount Olive, Mississippi.
In February, 1943 Robert joined the U.S.Army and fought in World War II. He spent time in Germany and Paris. He received his honorable discharge and returned to Mississippi and married his childhood sweetheart Mary Lois Strickland on October 18, 1947. The happy couple moved to Chicago where they welcomed their three children; Grace, Ray and Cloteria.
Robert was one of the founding members of Greater KIng David MB Church under pastor Rev. A.N. Ratliff. Robert faithfully served on the usher board for over forty years.
Robert was employed by Armour Meat Packing Company and IIT. He retired in 1991. He was as Chicago White Sox and Bulls fan.
On April 10, 2012 Robert was called homee by his Creator. He leaves to mourn and cherish many memories; daughters; Grace and Cloteria, son; Ray and Arnold Washington, grndaughter; Melody (Anthony), grandson; Jaz, great grandchildren; Brandon, Harmony and Quentin, sister-in-law Cloteria, and a host of nephews, neices, cousins and friends.
