Sadie Owens was born on January 26, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Owens in Blytheville, Arkansas. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age.
Sadie united in marriage to Cornelious Island who preceded her in death, a union which lasted over twenty years. From this union they were blessed with seven children: Juanita (Samuel*), Frances (Ulysses), Glyndia (Danny), Eric, Ernestine, Janice, James (Brenda), and her eighth child, Manolito Pendleton Sr.
Sadie later met Jose Valdez and formed a union that lasted over thirty-four years until her transition.
Sadie leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Corien and Luvenia, and Thelma (niece) all of St. Louis; nineteen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
