Obituary

Vallancourt Llewellyn Grant was born to John and Christobel Grant in the Central America country of Belize. He was the eldest of seven children. An avid learner, he graduated from Wesley College in his homeland. He served his country of Belize as a police officer before coming to America in 1951. In 1952, he met a beautiful young lady named Annalee and in the summer of 1953 they were married. To their union was born four children: Agnes Loretta, Jacqueline Barbara, Maurice Llewellyn and Noel Dennis. He was a dedicated husband and father, an ardent provider for his family and was always mindful of their safety and well being. He was a diligent and tireless worker retiring from three different vocations during his working years. He sailed the world as a Merchant Marine Traveling to nearly every corner of the world. Always interacting with people everywhere he went, he learned to communicate in several foreign languages. He was a pillar in his neighborhood, respected by all who knew him. He ultimately established his relationship with God and honored God with bestowed gifts by serving his family and others. He was blessed to have lived a long and healthy life, not experiencing illness until the last few years of his life. His sons Noel and Maurice; and brother Reginald preceded him in death. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Annalee; daughters Agnes L. Stevenson and Jacqueline Turner (Darryl); sisters Desita, Cynthia and Betty; brothers Rodney (Althea), Barnard (Frances); three grandchildren: Carmen, Dorian and Cameron: three great grandchildren: Xavier, Jael, and Cannan: a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
