Walter Johnson, Jr. born on April 7, 1942 to Glassie Mae (Anderson) Johnson and Walter Johnson (both deceased) in New York City, New York.
Walter attended Betsy Ross Elementary School and Englewood High School in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, Walter attended the Englewood Church of God where he established his faith in God.
Walter enlisted in the United States Army at the age of nineteen. While serving with the U.S. Army, Walter completed training in Parachute Jump School as well as other Basic Training Programs offered by the Army. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1965.
Walter, affectionately called "Bud" by his family members and friends, will always be remembered as a warm, thoughtful and appreciative individual.
Walter Johnson departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Claudette; two daughters April and Julia; and a son Walter. Julia served as her father's primary caregiver during his long debilitating illness. Two stepchildren Plexda (Lisa) and Kelly. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He also leaves to mourn three sisters Francine Healy, Lelia Spearman and Aline Magee; Niece, Regine Spearman; two great nephews DeLunon and Dan; Brother-in-law Alonzo Spearman and a host of relatives and friends.
